Stirrers for Glass

Overview

The function of the automated stirrer is to homogenize molten glass, blend colour agents and to help control temperature within the hollow glass manufacturing process. Typically, stirrers are loaded in the forehearth channel before entering the spout section. This expendable refractory shape must withstand demanding conditions, including high temperatures and thermal shock, wear, corrosion and mechanical damage; hence, they must offer high performance to deliver maximum service life before replacement and minimize production downtime.
