Refractory Spouts

Overview

Spouts are located at the end of the forehearth within the hollow glass manufacturing process. They are used to hold the cooled and conditioned glass prior to forming a gob. Located inside the spout are typically a tube and a plunger that work together to move the molten glass through an orifice ring, which is mounted to the bottom of the spout. Pyrotek's expendable refractory shapes feature high volume stability, as well as resistance to alkali vapours, thermal shock, hot load and corrosion.
