RFM Stationary Diffusers

Overview

Pyrotek's reinforced fibreglass material (RFM^®) degassing tube was designed to maximize the efficiency of standard ceramic degassing tubes with the added benefit of thermal shock resistance along the shaft. The inert gas passes through the central tube to the degassing head where the pore size has been designed to minimize bubble size and promote efficient hydrogen removal from the melt. The RFM material brings high strength and thermal shock resistance to the shaft, providing longer product life by eliminating fracture at the air-melt interface. On average, RFM stationary diffusers last three times longer than comparable ceramic degassing tubes.

The RFM stationary diffuser is available in bell, "T", or "L" shape options.
