Dual Vertical Gate Filters
Overview
The dual vertical gate filter system contains two in-line bonded particle filter pockets that are used to clean metal as it flows through a bonded particle filter.
Dual vertical gate filters (DVGF) are best suited for continuous casting. The system has a small footprint but allows for efficient filtration with two vertical gate filter pockets. The main purpose of this system is to allow changing of a filter in one position during the casting campaign. This will allow for a longer campaign. Rarely is the system used with both filters in place at once.
The DVGF has high strength and durability at its maximum operation temperature and combines hard silicon-carbide particles with a molten aluminum-resistant binder for long-life integrity. The system's high thermal conductivity and complex internal structure provide excellent thermal stability and filtration efficiency over the lifetime of the product. The DVGF system operates efficiently with BPF 6, 8, 10 and 12 grit filter grade options. The dual vertical gate filter (DVGF) system features the exclusive Pyrotek bonded particle filter in a configuration ideally suited for continuous casting.
