CALGAS Degassing and Fluxing Systems
Overview
Pyrotek's CALGAS degassing and fluxing systems are robust, long-lasting rotary degassing and/or fluxing equipment used to clean and purify molten metal baths in preparation for casting. These units may be well-mounted, fixed or mobile (with the use of heavy-duty wheels). These units differ from both STAR and STAR E-series products with unique standards and specifications designed for Chinese, Indian and South American operations.
CALGAS rotary degassing and fluxing systems are custom-engineered pieces of equipment designed for the removal of hydrogen, oxides and dross impurities from molten melts by a spinning shaft/rotor. Various CALGAS models can be applied for most furnaces, crucibles and ladles within a foundry. CALGAS equipment uses specially designed shafts, rotors and baffles with anti-oxidation treatment to ensure efficient degassing/fluxing performance and ensure long service life time. The interlock control system of the equipment ensures operation safety. Easy-to-use equipment controls improve efficiency.
Benefits of the CALGAS degassing and fluxing systems include:
- Alarm for flux blockage, low gas flow, low gas pressure to avoid the problem
- Shur-lok coupling for quick replacement of graphite shaft/rotor
- Fixed, mobile or well mount
- Reduces the loss of aluminium in the dross removal process
- Reduces oxide buildup on furnace walls
