Carbon Raschig Rings

Overview

Carbon Raschig rings are used in crude oil refineries, petrochemical plants and chemical plants. They are used in large numbers as a packed bed within columns for distillations and other chemical engineering processes. They provide a large surface area within the volume of the column for interaction between liquid and gas or vapour. They have long packing life in many corrosive and high-temperature separations. Raschig rings also are used in highly oxidizing services, such as caustic scrubbers and alkylation units on refineries.
