A low-pressure die casting (LPDC) holding furnace is designed to maintain pressures required for the casting process. The furnace contains a reservoir of molten metal, which is connected to the casting die by a stalk/riser tube (filling system). Critical issues for low-pressure die casters include melt cleanliness, hydrogen content, furnace pressure, casting temperature, casting cycle timing and mould coating and maintenance.

Pyrotek focuses on raising metal quality and furnace efficiency to improve performance for die casters. Solutions for the low-pressure die casting process include transfer ladles, filling troughs, crucibles, refractories, sprue return filters, radiant heaters, stalk/riser tubes, insulation, coatings, gaskets and seals and more.

  • Better metal quality
  • Improved furnace efficiency
  • Lower replacement costs
